PRODUCTION YEAR

2024

A minimalist, poetic mirror, as in the style of Michael Anastassiades. A creation that combines fine craftsmanship and technology to bring into the domestic landscape an ingenious presence, providing reflections while seeming to blend into the horizon, simulating the setting sun. Gibbous is made by heating a heavy sheet of glass in a kiln for hours; the heat distorts a part of it under its own weight, creating a fold. The diminished thicknesses of the mirror, the result of excellent master craftsmanship, accentuate the personality of the mirror. The collection comprises two mirrors of different dimensions, to mount on a wall at the desired height in different ways – straddling the corner between two walls or, hung above a piece of furniture upon which Gibbous will seem to melt, like the sun into the horizon. The larger portion of the mirror can be complemented by an LED lighting system to magnify the overlapping interplay of light and shadow.
