The editorial offices of the weekly Parisian magazine La Semaine à Paris were realized as part of a collective project by a group of prominent figures in the Modern Movement, mainly from the Union des Artistes Modernes (UAM) founded in 1929. For the administrator's office, the Table dalle polie table by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand, presented at the Salon d’Automne in 1929, underwent a series of adaptations. Charlotte Perriand added a metal file cabinet on the side and enlarged the projecting sheet of glass, carving out a small space to hold pencils and pens. Cassina has re-issued this desk, in collaboration with the Fondation Le Corbusier, Pernette Perriand-Barsac and the heirs of Pierre Jeanneret, with the utmost respect for authenticity, optimising the design to meet the needs of today’s offices. The desk maintains its thick glass top, with the painted structure underneath, and the characteristic integrated pencil holder, found on the original model. Inside the metal file cabinet, which supports part of the weight of the tabletop, there is a technical compartment that can provide integrated electrification and an easily accessible USB (A+C) socket on the side. Wiring is inserted through a low cable pocket access and exits from the external side of the file cabinet.

Adaptation by Charlotte Perriand of the LC10-P Table en tube by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, Charlotte Perriand.

In 1922, Le Corbusier began working in the new rue de Sèvres, Paris, atelier with his cousin Pierre Jeanneret with whom he shared research projects and design criteria in a profound and life-long professional relationship. In October 1927, the pair decided to draw on the contribution of a young architect who had already begun to establish a reputation on the architectural scene of the time: Charlotte Perriand. Their collaboration lasted through to 1937 and was extremely fruitful, especially in the field of furniture design.
